Description We currently have an opportunity available for an: Assistant Store Manager (Merchandising) to assist in the overall management of a HomeGoods Store to maximize sales profit and operating efficiency and manage the merchandising presentation functions.

Assistant Store Manager-Merchandising

Responsibilities:

  • Identify merchandising opportunities and challenges in each assigned department.
  • Communicates presentation recommendations to the Store Manager and store team.
  • Directs merchandising work assignments throughout the store. Supervise Associates to ensure merchandise is properly presented and ticketed.
  • Manages the expansion/contraction of selling floor space based on sales contribution
  • Supports and ensures execution of all special event, merchandise, marketing, and value-signing strategies
  • Supports flexibility in inventory plans by continuing to emphasize merchandise flow to the selling floor and the nimble use of space.
  • Supervise operational areas such as backroom, front-end, cash office, markdowns when needed.
  • Address immediate customer service issues and ensure standards are met
  • Support Management Team in managing shrink and damage reduction programs
  • Participate with Management Team in the process of recruiting and hiring Store Associates
  • Provides coaching and specialized training for merchandise presentations.
  • Provides recognition, counseling, disciplinary action and evaluations for all respective reporting Associates.
  • Creates an environment that fosters open communication and information sharing among all Associates and maintains and supports all company values and Code of Conduct

    Requirements

  • Two years' of retail management experience
  • Excellent communication skills
  • The proven ability to manage and develop a large hourly staff (20 + employees)
  • Experience managing large retail boxes with $7 million + in annual sales
