Description

Buyer of Home Fashions for the HomeGoods Division of TJX



  • Buyer of home fashion merchandise for the HomeGoods division of TJX Companies, located in the Massachusetts area.
  • Travel domestically and internationally in order to opportunistically purchase highly fashionable, quality, branded goods that represent an incredible value to our customers.
  • Develop private label programs with the aid of the Product Development Team.
  • Analyze history and current business in order to strategically forecast future opportunities.
  • As part of the merchandising team you will work closely with other Buyers, the Merchandise Manager, and the General Merchandise Manager to meet company goals and objectives.
  • Maintain knowledge of market conditions regarding price, resources and fashion as they relate to trends and key items, and react accordingly to impact sales.
  • Negotiate and make decisions to buy, while in the market place.

  • Must have a minimum of five years+ retail Buying experience for a major retailer in Home Textiles and/or Decorative Giftware.
  • Must have strong analytical, financial, strategic and planning skills.
  • Must have a proven record of strong negotiating skills, with examples to substantiate.
  • Must be a go-getter, with a "can-do attitude" and a true excitement for the business.
  • Entrepreneurial minded, with a strong comfort of taking measurable risks.
  • Strong team playing, clear communication, and relationship building skills are very important in order to be successful in our business.
  • Must have a keen sense of home fashion trends.
  • Must be able to travel domestically and internationally.
