Description

Associate Creative Director - Art Director

  • Do you have a passion for fashion? And can execute that in an effective and strategic way? Well the TJX Companies wants to talk to you. Currently our Marshalls team is in search of an Associate Creative Director – Art Director to join our tight-knit, fast-paced internal ad agency. It’s a great position for a seasoned individual willing to work with the marketing team in all aspects of the retail creative design – including photo shoots, print, direct mail and collateral materials.
  • Overview
  • An Associate Creative Director – Art Director is responsible for translating innovative concepts into finished design for print, direct mail, and interactive and collateral material within the brand identity.
  • The ACD is the lead in creating an innovative store experience to communicate the Marshalls brand, while motivating the customer to shop and always keep Marshalls top of her list.
  • The ACD must be proficient in being able to translate this vision 2 and 3 dimensionally.
  • Under the supervision of the Creative Director, the Associate Creative Director/Art Director works as part of an in-house marketing team to achieve the Marshalls brand objectives through effective message strategies.
  • Using proven talent and consistent conceptual thinking, the Associate Creative Director/Art Director must communicate the Marshalls brand strengths in a uniquely fresh, memorable, and persuasive way reflected in all mediums.
  • Responsibilities:
  • Attend assigned kick offs and participate in presentations.
  • Develop concepts that reflect strategy, are appropriate for the Marshalls brand personality and are extremely creative.
  • Ability to set the visual tone in collaboration with the Creative Directors.
  • Collaborate with senior writers to produce high quality, strategy-driven work.
  • Partner the team to execute top quality creative on a consistent basis and maintain synergy across all communications.
  • Communicate the set vision (concept) to the print production partners in a timely manner to ensure that budgets and timelines are adhered to.
  • Oversee, supervise and organize photo shoots with guidance of Creative Director
  • Work with copywriters, designers, project managers, and others within the Marketing dept. to determine the brand’s needs, selling concepts, and strategies.
  • Ensure that ideas/designs are produced timely and on budget.
  • Maintain interaction with print production, traffic and marketing teams on scope of projects.
  • Consistently executes creative from concept to release at the highest level.
  • Remains current on industry trends and technology.
  • Always represent the TJX standards internally and externally
  • Specifications:
  • Executes designs in a variety of styles and maintains consistently high standards of work that will enhance the Marshalls brand.
  • Understands what a big idea is and delivers them consistently.
  • Works productively and harmoniously as a teammate with Sr. Copywriters, other designers, project managers and production team, who share responsibility on a given project.
  • Thinks and articulates both verbally and visually when working with/without copywriters or other designers
  • BA in Graphic Design/Communication, Creative or similar degree or equivalent experience.
  • 8-10 years of related work experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Proficient in InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator
  • Proven talent and a strong design sense (several well produced, big idea campaigns)
  • Possess a solid understanding of photography, illustration, print process and typography
  • Ability to juggle multiple projects
  • Proven ability as a problem solver and take the initiative to solve issues
  • Proven ability to work in all medias with a heavy concentration in print.
  • Proven ability to effectively present ideas to team, clients, and/or senior creative personnel.
  • Intelligent thinking, strong organizational skills, and accuracy.
